Not just Cici, but Ping as well, Andrew. She couldn't figure out how you knew she was out late at night working on her plants.

Speaking of which, she is tired of the neighbors walking their dogs and letting them do their business right in the middle of where she works so hard to keep flowers and plants growing. She asked me what can be done about it, so I have located an electronic device that has a sensor that is activated by activity within its zone of coverage. It emits a sound that humans cannot hear but will drive dogs away. At least that is the hype in the advertisements. I guess we need to give that a try.
I figured you would know about this, Craig. There is a book you might like to read if you haven't read it yet. It is World Without Cancer. In fact, if everyone read this book, including doctors, there would likely be an overthrow of the American Medical Association and the FDA.
Yes, I can weigh in on this. Learned most of what I know from my mother. I am actually very well aware of vitamin B-17, and can heartily recommend the Little Cyanide Cookbook (yes, odd name, but that is the active component of B-17). Here is a link: http://www.amazon.com/Cyanide-Cookbook-Delicious-Recipes-Vitamin/dp/0912986379
It has many recipes for items high in this vitamin. I make a point of eating the seeds of apples which contain this vitamin, which is also present in small amounts in almonds (and is what causes the bitter taste). Amazing how even poisons are beneficial in small amounts. The bottom line is moderation in everything. Studies have shown overdosing on vitamins will cause bigger problems than a complete lack of them. Just be careful to not overdo it.

Theories hold that since cancer cells tend to overindulge in using resources, they kill themselves by ingesting a critical mass of B-17 that a normal cell would never reach.

Be careful out there :-)

Birthdays are very important to the Chinese from my experience. It was amazing the number of people who came by for my wife's mother's birthday this past Saturday, and all bearing gifts (mostly red envelopes :-) )

Speaking of birthdays, our little girl is 8 months old today, and she seems to like meeting all her Chinese relatives :-)

Masters at 22? That is impressive! A double E at that, which puts her in prime position for joining the technology world.

Yes, Ping's life is very full. She has an unbelievable number of friends, both here and abroad. Cic and I are amazed at how many people she knows. A couple of days ago she was talking on QQ with a former classmate from China who is getting an advanced degree in California at present. She learned that she has three other classmates in America as well, so I am sure she will be establishing contact with them.

Thank you for doing this and I'm so danged pleased to see ( from Craig ) that I'll be able to read your posts there in China, I forgot to tell you I guess, Ling speaks, reads and writes English , some times better then I do, I've sent her some of your post via email to read, so she has an idea of how things are going, also we are buying ( ? ) a " house " in or near Kun ming and Ling says that she knows that Americans prefer better climates then Bie jing so you all are more then welcome in Kun ming also, I'm not to sure but I think she will let her baba stay in the one in Bei jing oh well, Ping's time seems to be filled, as does Cici's.
Lings daughter goes to UCLA now for her Masters in Electrical Engineering, she has one more semester to go, and she's only 22 years old, it amazes me how fast these children learn.
well it's just great to here you'll keep posting I hope you enjoyed the holidays.

There is nothing like celebrating Spring Festival in China. It is good to know that our little blog is reaching those who travel there. The girls will be heading that way after graduation, though as excited and anxious as Cici is about going, she is insisting that they not leave until after my birthday in June. We can just celebrate it early, I suggested, but she is having none of that. No Papa, I want to be with you on your birthday, she replied.
Sorry for the silence, but I am currently in China experiencing the New Year first hand. Out where my Lao Po is from, internet access is somewhat slow and sporadic. However, I am having no problem reading your blog here :-)

And needless to say, the whole event is nothing short of spectacular. The fireworks coming from just about every rooftop on New Year's Eve was a sight to behold. Everyone should have a chance to visit for the New Year's (although transport is somewhat crowded and certain ones more expensive for the event).
