Getting Close to the One Digits

The last day of July?  That must mean the girls will be home soon.  I noticed that the schools nearby are also making preparations for the first day of school.  I will also go to book night early next week for Cici and pick up her schedule and locker and books.  And this is my next to last weekend before the girls will be home.

I bought cherries for the girls yesterday at Costco.  Yes, I know they may not last 12 more days but they might.  If cherries are still available next weekend I will buy more, and those will last until they get here.  They are really looking forward to eating cherries, but there are many things they miss about being here.  Starting with our home.  We just want to come home, they both keep telling me.  We miss you and we miss our home.

But life goes on in their absence.  I will order new plates for Ping's car today.  She put less than 6500 miles on it the first year.  I drove easily double that number of miles, but we use the Pilot as our primary vehicle.  I am trying to lay out a PSAT study plan for Cici.  The office is showing that it needs Pings presence and I sure miss the hot tea that she always brought to me during the day.  If I put water on to heat for tea, I often get distracted and don't get back to it before the water boils away.

Yes, it will be good to get back to normal soon.
