Take This
Boy, that was a good call to end the previous post when I did. Within 30 seconds the thunderstorm caused the power surge I was concerned about and the computer shut down.
After the storm I drove to the nearby Goodwill Store to drop of a couple of dozen freshly laundered and starched shirts on hangars. I just cleaned out my closets before the girls came and I gave away an incredible amount of clothing. Somehow my closets got full again, so I decided to give more away. As I sat here this evening I decided to take a closer look, and I now have our bed half covered with more clothes to give away in stacks that are about 2 feet high. How can this be? I look at what I have taken out and I wonder how it ever fit in the closets. There is nothing wrong with any of these clothes but I am not using them, so I will give them to someone who can.
When the girls come home I think I will try to convince Ping to do what I just did, but that is likely to be very difficult. She loves everything in her closet. Cici is the same. Many of the things they have are things they share. They share clothing, purses, shoes, accessories, and jewelry. They also share the same beauty. When I see them together on the web cam I am amazed at how their facial expressions are the same, and how much they look alike.
Being able to spend time together on the web cam almost makes the separation bearable, but it is still difficult. That the girls want to come home is so obvious when they are talking with me. Today they were both trying to take control of the computer as we talked because neither of them wanted the other to control the conversation. Cici finally convinced Ping to go ake a shower and promised to turn the computer over to her when she returned. Ping extracted a promise from me that I would be available at 8:30 this evening Houston time to talk with her. She knows that Cici will probably still be asleep at that time in Guangzhou (9:30 a.m.).
We are down to 25 days. The weeks go by so fast here because I am very busy at the office, but it is more difficult for the girls. They do what they can to stay busy, but in the end they just want to be home. Not just back in Houston, but home.
