Collecting Memories

Last night I was talking with Cici about her band tour to Chicago and Wisconsin.  Did you take any pictures, I asked?  I think I took about 300, she told me.  Do you want to see them?

We didn't look at all 300, but we looked at some of them.  I was glad to see that there were lots of pictures of Cici with her friends, and not just pictures that Cici had taken of other people or of places they visited.  She did take a few shots of her friends wearing Cheesehead hats in Wisconsin.

Look at the river, she said as she showed me a picture she took in Chicago.  I have walked across that bridge and looked at that river many times, I told her.  Do you know what they will do to that river tomorrow, which is St. Patrick's day, I asked?  She smiled.  They told us that they will make the river green, she said.

You collected a lot of memories on this trip, I observed.  Did you have fun?  It was a lot of fun, Papa, and I wish the trip had lasted longer. Really?  I thought you missed us. I did miss you, she said, but we were also having a lot of fun.

How about the host families that you stayed with, I asked?  They were nice, Cici said, but I saw a mouse in one of their homes.  It was trying to eat some of my chocolate candy.

So what did she do on her first day of spring vacation after returning from her trip?  The industrious young lady spent the day washing all of her clothes that she wore on the trip.  She had stayed up late cleaning her room the night before she left, so it was already in pristine condition, but she cleaned it again yesterday.

Then we collected one more memory by driving to Wendy's at night to get a chocolate frosty for her to eat.
