Kisses for Me
Somebody we know and love was so happy to be back with Mama and Papa today. Ping picked Cici up at the airport and brought her to the office. She came in my office with a big smile on her face and gave me a big hug. Then she presented me with a Chicago tee shirt that she bought for me. I really like it because it is red with the word Chicago written twice in large faded white letters across the chest. The word Illinois is written twice in large black letters that run vertically up the left side of the shirt, but not every letter is visible because some of the letters in Chicago cover them.
Do you like it, Papa, Cici asked? Yes, Sweetie, I love it, I told her. It will be my new favorite shirt. As soon as we got home I put it on and I am wearing it now. When we got home Cici gave me a lot of kisses. A whole bag of them. I bought these chocolate kisses for you, Papa. I hope you like them. I didn't know if they would have them in Houston, she told me, so I bought them in Wisconsin.
These are my favorites, I told her honestly. Hershey's kisses with almonds. Ping also loves them, we quickly learned, and Cici also ate a few with me. Then the girls took them away from me so I wouldn't eat too many of them.
Ping and Cici stopped at Marshall's on the way home and found a new pair of shoes for Cici. Some white sandals that she really likes, and couldn't wait to show me. She was calling my name as soon as she walked into our home so she could show me her new shoes.
Ping is resting now and Cici is unpacking and settling in at home. She came out of her bedroom a few minutes ago, just to tell me that she is very happy to be home.
Our little chicken is back on her nest, right where she belongs.
