Remember the Alamo
It is looking like the girls will be able to go to San Antonio with me while Cici is on Spring Break. I have a mediation there and it seems a shame for the girls not to go with me. When we go, it will be the same week that Cici will be returning from her band tour to Chicago and Milwaukee, so she will be quite the little traveler. Maybe seeing more of America will prepare her for U.S. History in her next school year. It sounds amazing to be talking about her junior year already when it feels like she just arrived here last week.
It has been a while since I walked through the Alamo, so if it is a nice day, I might try to entice the girls to go there with me and look around at a piece of Texas history that had a significant impact on how the United States developed. We call this history, though it doesn't begin to scratch the surface of recorded history in China. Nevertheless, Cici will be learning a lot of new things about America, so visiting the Alamo seems like as good a place as any to start the process. Somehow I suspect the girls will be more interested in visiting the riverwalk in San Antonio.
Last night Ping worked for several hours helping one of our clients in China prepare her forms to submit to the consulate for her interview. I have the busiest Mama in the world, Cici joked. Yes, Ping responded, I am so busy. You aren't too busy to shop at Marshall's, I teased her. A short time later I teased her even more and Cici and I shared a big laugh. I caught Ping stealing vegetables on the computer game that the girls play. Ping laughed and denied stealing vegetables; I am selling some vegetables so I can buy an animal, she said.
But Cici is also very busy. At 10:30 last night I was still working on a client matter and Cici was still coming to me for help with some of her homework. Then she had to be at school earlier than usual this morning, so we didn't get as much sleep as we wanted. But it is Friday, so Cici will sleep until noon or a little later tomorrow. I on the other hand will be up early and back in the office to meet with some new clients and get some work done as another week comes to a close.
