Friendship

Sometimes in life we are fortunate to become friends with someone special.

A few years ago a beautiful Chinese lady became a client of my law firm.  I was able to help her through some troubled times in her career, and we stayed in contact with each other.  She is one of the few Chinese people I knew in Houston who was supportive of my relationship with Ping.  She encouraged me to trust Ping, who she met for the first time last week when she came to our office to discuss some business matters.  She brought a gift to Ping:  a book to help her with English.  I gave her one of our books.

This morning I received the following email from this friend.  It is about our book, so I am sharing it here:

Lee,

One good friend…a thousand reasons to be thankful.

There’s a glow of gratitude in thought of you for your kindness, friendship and the thoughtful things you do, the times you’re there to lean on, the caring  things you say...  That’s why thoughts of you are part of my Thanksgiving Day.

Happy Thanksgiving to you and your lovely family!

Lee, thank you for giving me your wonderful book “No Price too Great”, it has deeply touched and stirred my emotion in the way you’ll ever imagine.   It has changed my life.  I have read many love story books before, but  I must say, no book has touched me in the way “No Price too Great” did.  I don’t know why, may be the author is my friend, the woman (Ping) and girl (Angela) come from my motherland or may be your eloquent writing……

“No Price too Great” has brought me into tears all my words can’t express how I was deeply moved.

Again, thank you for the book.  Thank you for taking time visit with me the other day.

Jian
