What is in a Name?

I woke up at 4:00 and there was no going back to sleep so I got up.  There were too many thoughts running through my mind.  I was still thinking about the young lady who called about a ride to school, but also about our new office space.

How about, I was thinking, giving our conference rooms names.  One of them, I believe, should have a Chinese name and a Chinese theme.  For this room we have a beautiful circular rosewood conference table with six rosewood chairs, the bottoms of which are covered in a rich-looking red on red cloth that Ping selected.  Suppose, I was thinking, we take our Eddie Bauer soft leather sofa and chair from our home to the office.  We could put them at the end of this conference room with our large Chinese rosewood coffee table, put our tea set on the table and our Mah Jong set nearby, and make this a conversation area.

Something tells me that Ping will like this idea.  I know that she would prefer to have furniture in our living room with a stiffer sitting surface, and this idea would give her the opportunity to select and buy that furniture.  This conference room could be called The Guangzhou Room.

Now how many of you recall the story from our book about the bridle and bit that I had hanging on the wall of our home office when the girls arrived?  It didn't survive Ping's redecoration of our home, but suppose we were to hang it on the wall in one of our conference rooms with a hat rack for my cowboy hats and other Texas theme decorations.  This room could be called The Houston Room.  I have less confidence that Ping will like this idea, but perhaps it will appeal to her.

Ahh, but what to call the third large conference room, and what theme to use for it?  Maybe we can put a lot of books in this room and call it The Library Room.  Now you see the important issues that cause me to get up at four o'clock in the morning so I can puzzle through them.

A variety of room types would be good. Not everyone likes all types of furnishings. While I'm partial to Arts and Crafts/Mission style, French furnishings make me uncomfortable just looking at them. So options are good!
