Sixteen and Seventeen

Tokyo One it was for the birthday girl yesterday.  She loves to eat sushi, and they have a pretty good selection of it on their sushi buffet.  She selected green tea ice cream for dessert.  I had never tried it before, and didn't particularly care for it's taste.  Cici left there with her appetite well sated.

I enjoyed listening in the background at the office yesterday morning as Ping and her cousin talked with Cici on QQ.  They were laughing and having fun as though they were in the same room.  I joined the fun for a few minutes and Ping told me that they are having to resize the counters in the kitchen of our new home in order to accommodate the appliances, which will take them about a week.  This makes her schedule even more tight, but she will move everything into the new place without waiting for the counter work to be completed.

Tonight is book night at Cici's school.  We will go there to pick up her text books and get her locker assignment for the coming school year.  Maybe this year she will be lucky and get a top locker.  She will have a chance to see some of her classmates and teachers, and begin the mental adjustment to being back in school.  If that doesn't do it, perhaps the next three days of band practice from 7:00 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. will help.  Then on Friday she (we) must also be at school from 6:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. to perform with the band for the parents.

Sixteen years for Cici.  Seventeen days 'til Ping.

You have to be careful with green tea ice cream. Sometimes it's great, and sometimes it's like lighter fluid...

Sounds like Ping is gonna be exhausted when she gets back home.
