I'm Not Bragging ... well, I might be

Two of my favorite shirts for wearing around the house, or for that matter pretty much anywhere except to the office, though I even wear them to the office on weekends, cost about five bucks each.  Wal-Mart, you see, was about the only place where I could buy new tires for the Pilot while we were traveling to the family reunion last year and one of them suffered a puncture that ruined the sidewall.  They couldn't match the tire and the sensible solution considering the amount of wear on the other tires seemed to be to put on a whole new set of tires.  I found these shirts as I wandered through the store, just killing time until the car was ready.

Both of the shirts are white, but one has red across the shoulders and the other has blue across the shoulders.  I don't recall if they had the same shirt with other colors across the shoulders, but if I saw them now and they were available, I would be inclined to buy these shirts in a rainbow of colors.  They are very lightweight and cool, and despite being washed many times, they have not shrunk a bit.  The best I can tell, the colors have not faded either.

Cici had washed these shirts last Saturday.  I predictably donned the red and white one and wore it to the office on Sunday.  I regretted doing that after I thought about it, because I realized that I would want that shirt to wear on our trip to the reunion this year.  Imagine my surprise, and my delight, to find that Cici had been intuitive enough about my desires that she washed and dried the shirt yesterday while I was at the office.  Maybe praising our children is allowed even if we are bragging.

Ping was excited when we talked with her last night, our time, because the air conditioning units were being delivered to our new home yesterday morning, her time.   I know this has been an exhausting undertaking on her part, but she hasn't complained about it at all, and it looks like the project will be finished right on schedule.  In the meantime, Cici and I were given the task of thinking of an American name for Ping's cousin's little grandson.  I printed out a list of the one hundred most popular baby names for 2008 and Cici went diligently through the list.  How about "Austin," she suggested.  Now there is a good, strong, Texas name.  Let's think about it, I told her.
