Sudden Fall
As I talked with Ping this morning, I realized that time is running out. Sure I can't wait for her to be back home with Cici and me. But the summer is over guys. Suddenly, fall is here. School starts in exactly three weeks. Book night is only two weeks away. And sandwiched in between is tax day for companies that extended the time for filing their tax return, and who didn't. Before all of that, Cici and I need to make the family reunion. Woe is us. How will we ever get it all done.
Well, one day at a time always seems to work. My little Angel (why do you think Ping chose Angela as Cici's Western name?) is cleaning the kitchen and washing dishes while I panic for a while. I earned this respite by cooking dinner, after all. I was looking at my calendar at the office today after I realized that crunch time is on us, and there are simply not enough days to accommodate all that must be done before Ping returns home.
Maybe, just maybe, we will make it through this busy time. I told Cici that we need to double our efforts. I will go to sleep early the night before we leave to drive to the reunion, I told her. I will get out of bed when you typically are going to bed. Say 1:00 or 1:30 a.m. You can sleep in the car while I drive through the night. When you wake up, we will be there, and I will have a good part of the day available for work before the festivities begin. No Papa, sleep a little longer and we can leave at 3:00 a.m., she suggested.
At least she is working with me here.

I guess I would be asking too much if to see if you guys want to come over for some baby back bar-b-que ribs. You know ever since I became a bachelor here I have been bar-b-queing more and more since it’s easier to cook for one that way.

Maybe we should do baby back ribs and crab legs. We can bring the crab legs and the steamer.
