The Girls of China

She knew just where to put it.

Papa.  Wake me up at the morning before you go to the office.  Because I need to go with you.  Yuqian said she will go to the office before 11.  So don't forget to wake me up.  Cici.

She put the sticky note right at the top of my computer monitor, hanging down in front of the screen.

Now I know she doesn't really want to get out of bed this early in the morning, so I am stalling a little bit.  It is almost 6:30, though, so her wake up call is about here.  I have a lot of work to do at the office, and I know that Cici and Yuqian will want me to take them to the mall shortly after Yuqian arrives at the office.  Yuqian told Cici she wants to go to the mall because she has missed the ice cream that the girls buy when we go there.

Yes, Cici already asked me if I will take the two of them to the food market as well so they can load up on snacks.  Looks like my day has been planned for me, but Cici has been so excited about seeing Yuqian again.  Papa, she brought me my favorite magazine from China.  I am so happy!  She didn't have to tell me.  I could see it written all over her face.

I was also able to listen last night as Cici talked on her computer with her grandma and Ping and her cousins and Ping's cousin and husband.  They must have talked and laughed for an hour at least.  I think the excitement is building with Ping and Cici about Ping's return to Houston.  I can see in Ping's messages and hear in her voice how much she misses being here with us.  33 days.

I only come here about once a month. But, I spend an evening catching up on the lives of old friends. I've been enjoying your blogs, Lee.

Welcome, Dennis.  Thanks for letting us know that you are reading along with us.  The girls will be delighted when I tell them.  And hey, in just 21 days I can tell Ping in person!

Don't be a stranger when you come here.  We enjoy hearing from you and everyone who makes an appearance.  I have been amazed by the number of clients and friends who have never posted here, but who tell me that they regularly read our story.

Sooner or later we will get out to the coast to see you guys.  That trip is high on Ping's list of things to do.
