They Arrived ... On a Day Late in May

The sun was shining brightly through the windows of the airplane.  They were too excited, hungry, happy, and exhausted to speak.  They just waited and watched, with no idea what to expect next.

And thus began Chapter 10 of our story, No Price Too Great.  That day late in May was exactly one year ago today.  In the next two hundred pages, our story unfolded one day at a time.  When I read it now, it doesn't just bring back memories.  It brings our story to life.

But so much more has happened since the back cover of that book was closed.  We have witnessed the building of a family in an almost unbelievable way.  Many unknowns have been answered.  Many dreams have come true.  Obstacles have been overcome.  Would be barriers have been shattered.  New dreams have arrived, and we find ourselves filled with hope and excitement about the future.

Yes, a year has passed, but the time was well spent, Discovering Angela.  And one day, when the time is right, that story will also burst on the literary scene.  For today, though, we will celebrate the beginning of our second year together in America.  An American family ... made in China, assembled in America.

Thanks for joining us.

Thanks Larry.  Yes, it was an incredibly fast year.  Cici and I tracked Ping's flights on the Internet and knew that she arrived in Hong Kong half an hour earlier than scheduled.  We called her from the office after I picked Cici up from school around 9:30 yesterday morning.  The first words out of Ping's mouth were about how much she misses Cici and me.  We also miss her, and we will all be glad when we are back together.
