Show Time
What will we do?
Well, if anyone shows up for the book signing tonight, we hope they have an enjoyable time. Rather than bore people with passages from our book, I have prepared a list of things to talk about. Little stories. Some funny, some serious, some sad, some touching. All intended to answer questions that might be on the minds of anyone who is aware of our story.
This morning I opened a new bag of Kona coffee beans that were given to us by a friend who knows how much I enjoy coffee. This friend might be called a VBC. The Chinese in Houston have a way of describing Chinese people who are born in America. They just call them ABC, for American born Chinese. The friend who gave us the coffee is a Vietnamese born Chinese, hence VBC. I hope she is reading our blog and sees that I am thanking her here for the coffee. It was a very nice gesture, and it is delicious coffee.
The girls are wringing the last moments of sleep from the night while I think about what might happen later today. The book lights we ordered arrived yesterday at the office. They are nice little lights. We intend to give one to each person who buys our book this evening until the supply runs out. No, we won't make any money, but the book signing isn't about making money from the sale of the books. It is about building awareness of it. By the time the second edition is published later this year, we hope that word will have already begun to spread.
Come see us at Uptown Park this evening!
